Bahattin Tatış, the founder of Türk Koleji, wanted İzmir Özel Türk Koleji, which would begin education on November 15, 1950, to have its own anthem, in order to announce to all of İzmir, through the unique beauty of music, the school he would establish and the young people he would educate, and for everyone to see the difference.

For this reason, on November 14, 1950, he spoke with the school’s music teacher, Dündar Alpman, and asked him to compose a school anthem. Mr. Dündar;

“En hakiki mürşit ilimdir bize;
Yüce Atatürk'ün izindeyiz biz.
Hepimiz bağlıyız vazifemize;
Yaşasın var olsun Türk kolejimiz.
Ey vatan, ey millet sen güven bize;
Yarına hazırız, hazırız size!”

wrote the lyrics, composed the music, and on November 15, 1950, the day İzmir Özel Türk Koleji was founded, our school’s first students enthusiastically sang the İTK Anthem.

In 2013, our anthem was performed again by artists of the İzmir State Opera and Ballet. In the arrangement of the anthem, a 15-member orchestra was accompanied by 12 choristers consisting of alto, soprano, tenor, and bass voices. The launch of the new recording of our school anthem took place on November 15, 2013, at the 3rd “Bahattin Tatış – Being Present in Tomorrow Awards Ceremony.”
